Title: Becoming a Better Programmer
Proposer: pete_goodliffe
Type: Tutorial/Panel
Duration: 90 minutes
Description: I'd like to gather about five other respected ACCU members for a panel
presentation on the theme “Becoming a Better Programmer”.
I think there is much value, and interesting discussion to be had on this
topic. Naturally, it follows the theme of my CVu column.
I will invite the panel members to give some (pretty short) presentations
on the themes of “better” software or “better programmers”, and how to attain
this state. It'll be interesting to see a number of different viewpoints on
the topic.
From here, depending on time, I will open the session up to more of a panel
format, to dig into themes that arise from the presentations, take questions
from the floor, and/or dig into the main topic with a number of pre-prepared
questions for the panel that I have ready.
I'd aim to come up with a series of specific practical advice from each
presentation/the discussion that attendees can go away with. Guaranteed
value!
I can see this being a very practical, and entertaining, session.
Obviously, at the proposal state, I haven't asked any panel members, but there
are not shortage of people who will likely already be at the conference who
would gladly lend their voices to this discussion.
If you like this idea, I will craft a more website-friendly version of
this proposal for publication.
[YES. I prefer this to Pete's iOS one. Ewan]
