Title:The Integration Oriented Organization
Proposer: Klaus Marquardt
Type: Presentation
Duration: 90 mins
Description:
This talk explores why integration is the essential task for large projects and organization, and takes a closer look at how trunk based development and other configuration management policies fit into the organization.

We’ll follow a case study how individual projects (some continuously integrating, few trunk based) grew into an integration oriented organization, what has been found, what works fine, and what needs more work. A couple of patterns are presented that cover technical and organizational aspects. Their impact on daily routines and workflow, on responsibility, cooperation, autonomy, and emotions are discussed. There is much attention to the different needs of different actors, attitude, and the challenges of a multi-project setup.

Topics include: what is trunk based development; what are common practices; why would you choose these; how do they impact the company culture; where are the key decision points.

JJ: Klaus subtitled this Part 2: Patterns and practice of trunk based development, I don't know what part 1 is!
