TameFlow is an approach to management that will bring an organization to a state of hyper-performance: a condition whereby a business performs at levels several times greater than its direct competitors. This allows a business to enjoy outstanding financial results, operational excellence and superior innovative capacity.

TameFlow excels at bringing knowledge-based organizations (like software development shops) to such a state. It owes its name to the fact that it seeks to tame and align the four fundamental “flows” that determine the overall performance of an organization. The four flows are: Operational Flow, Information Flow, Financial Flow and Psychological Flow.

The TameFlow Approach has been successfully applied to both Scrum and Kanban delivering exceptional results. This presentation is an introduction to the general concepts of TameFlow, and in particular how TameFlow can be applied in practice to Scrum and Kanban. Concepts from Theory of Constraints are used to make the delivery of software projects both more reliable and much faster, increasing the operational flow. Pattern Theory is used to improve the flow of information, tightening the feedback loops and getting all stakeholders deeply involved. Throughput Accounting is used to increase the rate at which the software development efforts are turned into profit. The Core Protocols are used to create a state of psychological group flow whereby the teams will get to unprecedented levels of performance and experience complete control over their situation, even in the face of high risk, extreme difficulties and seemingly insurmountable challenges.
