Advertisments I've installed the OpenAds server for serving up the banners. The admin can be accessed at: (see private emails for login details). ---------- We seem to have several organizations wanting to advertise on the ACCU website. At the moment these are dominently companies looking to hire and recruitment agents. Obviously this can bring us some money but it also has the potential to help the journals and conference.

Entering a Book Review in the MarkLogic system 1. Go to http://accu.org:8002/ 2. Login with user/pass (I think Jez set some up). 3. Click on 'Add Review' in the top right corner 4. Fill in the fields*. 5. Press the Preview button. 6. If all looks well*, use the browser back button to go back. 7. Press 'Add Review' button.

Membership System The new, integrated membership system went live in the spring/summer of 2006. It is two plugin modules for the Xaraya system and makes full use of Xaraya's security system. The system had a minor rewrite in Spring 2008 to reduce some of the complexity.

Book Review System Members who have written a new book review will be able to fill in a form to submit the book review, this will get emailed to the book review admin to enter into the Parthenon system. After discussion with Tony, we have decided it would be beneficial to drop the MarkLogic/Parthenon system and create our own. There are a few ways to skin this particular cat, such as:

Site Redesign 2008 At the 2008 conference we had a short lunch time meeting to discuss changes to the site, here is a brief overview and the status of said changes. It was apparent that the site as it is provides some value to the ACCU Membership, but it has the potential to provide a lot more. One of the aims of the meeting was to gather ideas on what that would involve. 'More value' could be providing more features for members or making more visitors want to join up
